Authorities are urging residents to lock their doors as a manhunt continues in Washington state. The suspect, identified as Travis Decker, 32, is accused of killing his three daughters and has evaded capture in the remote regions of several counties.
According to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, residents in Chelan, Kittitas, King, Snohomish, and Okanogan counties are advised to secure their properties. They also appealed to those in isolated areas to keep their blinds open and outdoor lights on. “Please know that law enforcement professionals are patrolling at all hours, in all spaces throughout this region,” the sheriff’s office reported.
Decker, a former Army soldier, is equipped with wilderness survival skills, capable of remaining off-grid for extended periods, even with minimal equipment. Authorities have previously reported that Decker is adept at wilderness survival and could survive for days with little supplies.

The victims, Decker’s daughters, aged 9, 8, and 5, were found near a central Washington campground. Their bodies were discovered three days after their mother reported to the police that Decker failed to return the girls from a scheduled visit. Decker’s unoccupied vehicle was also found, adding to the gravity of the situation.
Reports indicate that law enforcement has executed search warrants in the area and on Decker’s electronic devices. While investigators have not divulged what they found, they noted that “new information” has yielded more leads to pursue.
Authorities have also released recent Ring camera footage and photos of Decker. The ongoing manhunt has necessitated the closure of the Enchantments, a beloved region in the Cascade Mountain Range known for its hiking trails and stunning landscapes. The closures will persist until at least June 18, or until further notice, according to the sheriff’s office.

Decker is described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing around 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. His last known attire was a light-colored shirt and dark shorts. It remains unclear whether Decker is armed.
As the search continues, residents are reminded to stay alert and secure their properties. The full extent of this tragic situation continues to unfold, and we will strive to keep you informed as more details emerge.
