Reports from Hyattsville, Maryland, indicate that an arrest has been made in connection with the November 2022 shooting of a former NFL player turned celebrity chef and a female companion.
On June 27, U.S. Marshals apprehended Devin Demetrius Spivey, age 21, at a residence in Laurel, Maryland. Spivey is one of five suspects sought by authorities in what police describe as an attempted robbery that resulted in the shooting of two individuals.
The victims, who survived the attack, have been identified by local officials as Tobias Dorzon, a 40-year-old former running back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tennessee Titans, now working as an executive chef, and an unnamed woman. Both were treated at a hospital following the incident.

According to Prince George’s County District Court records, Spivey faces 18 charges, including attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, armed robbery, and stalking. The suspect is currently being held without bond.
Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Tara Jackson has characterized this as “a senseless act of violence.” Police Chief Jarod Towers expressed hope that the arrest would provide some relief to the victims and others affected by the crime.
This development follows earlier reports that Dorzon has gained prominence not only in professional sports but also in culinary circles, appearing on television shows such as “Chopped” and hosting a program on ESPN and Hulu.
The evidence suggests that the investigation is ongoing, with four suspects still at large. Authorities have not indicated whether the victims were known to the alleged perpetrators before the incident.
