Reports from Lexington, Kentucky, indicate a series of violent incidents culminating in a deadly church shooting.

A 47-year-old Lexington man, identified as Guy House, is alleged to have shot a state trooper during a traffic stop near Blue Grass Airport. Following this altercation, House reportedly carjacked a vehicle and fled to Richmond Road Baptist Church, approximately 16 miles away.

At the church, tragedy unfolded. According to reliable sources, House opened fire, resulting in the deaths of two women: Beverly Gumm, 72, and Christina Combs, 32. The suspect was subsequently shot and killed by police officers at the scene.

Witnesses report that House entered the church seeking the mother of his children. When he discovered she wasn’t present, he allegedly made threatening statements before initiating the attack. In addition to the fatalities, two men, Jerry Gumm, the church pastor, and Randy Combs, were critically injured.

This raises important questions about public safety and the vulnerability of community gathering places. As we consider the broader implications, we must also acknowledge the profound impact on the families and community affected by this violence.

The injured state trooper and the two critically wounded men are reported to be in stable condition. Lexington Police Chief Lawrence Weathers has stated that the shootings remain under investigation. The evidence suggests a complex and tragic sequence of events, the full details of which are still emerging.

As this story develops, we will continue to report on the facts as they become known, always striving for accuracy and truth in our coverage.
