Security and emergency officials confirmed that three Israelis were shot and killed during a shooting targeting a bus and vehicle in the occupied West Bank on Monday morning.

The attack took place in Al-Funduq village, which is located on the main east-west road that crosses the Palestinian territories, a large part of which are under Israeli security control.

The Magen David Adom service in Israel confirmed the deaths of three victims – two women in their sixties and one man in his forties. MDA reported that it treated seven people injured, including a bus driver in a serious condition.

Israel Defense Forces announced that it had launched a manhunt to find the suspected Palestinian gunmen.

Israel Katz, Israeli Defence Minister, said that anyone who sponsors the murder of Jews and the harming of Jews in Gaza will pay a heavy price. He made this statement in response to the attack on his X page.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister, sent his condolences for the loss of life to the families. He also said that the attackers would not escape.

In a statement, he said: “We will track down the murderers who committed these abhorrent crimes and bring them to justice along with those who helped them.”

In an extensive report published on Sunday, the Palestinian Health Ministry of Ramallah reported that 838 Palestinians, including 173 children, have been killed and more than 6,700 injured by Israeli fire in the West Bank in the years since the beginning of the Gaza War in October 2023.
